Title: Grassroots of Rugby League NRL Story Mullumbimby Giants
Description: This 2 min NRL promo was used in the 2005 NRL Launch with two other success stories. After 44 years the Mullumbimby Giants won the premiership in the Group 1 Country Rugby League competition played at the Les Donnelly Oval at Mullumbimby with a crowd of 6000 spectators. Jason Taylor's comment ' This is what rugby league is all about ! ' set the scene for the ongoing promotion to support the 'grassroots' of the game. A follow up story by Paul Harragon from the Channel Nine 'Footy Show' linked this win to the 1960's premiers who also attended the 2004 grand final. All for the ongoing development of Rugby League.
