Punters have been quick to get aboard Weekend Hussler in the Makybe Diva Stakes with Sportingbet Australia recording a bet of $50,000 at $2.10 shortly after posting the market.
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said punters who had a good result on the Hussler in the Memsie were keen to back him again this weekend.
“Punters certainly think Weekend Hussler will turn the tables will turn the tables on Light Fantastic this weekend,” said Sullivan.
“At this stage, he is the only horse we can lay and he has already been backed from $2.10 in to even money.”
“If the money keeps coming like this for him, he will be starting odds on again this weekend.”
Light Fantastic is on the second line of betting at Sportingbet Australia but the Australia Guineas winner has eased out to $2.70.
“He put in a great run when he won the Liston and his form is impeccable but punters can’t see him beating Weekend Hussler at this stage,” said Sullivan.
Sportingbet Australia also has a head to head market up matching the two emerging superstars up against each other.
“We have Weekend Hussler as a $1.65 favourite to finish ahead of Light Fantastic who has eased out to $2.20 in head to head betting,” said Sullivan.
