Australia claimed a thrilling one-run win in the fourth one-day international in St Kitts to stay on course for a series whitewash against West Indies.

Andrew Symonds top-scored with 87 off 78 balls as the tourists put on 282-8.

The hosts looked set for victory after Chris Gayle's 92, but needing eight from the last over, Denesh Ramdin and Darren Sammy could only manage six.

Fourth one-day international, St Kitts:
Australia 282-8 (50 overs) beat West Indies 281-6 (50 overs) by one run
