To fellow forum members,
I would like to pose the following - The Western Force is the reason behind the drop in the standard of the Australian teams participating in the 2007 Super 14 comp. What I meen is that the scattering of an allready shallow player pool has left considerable gaps in the other franchises rosters.
We have seen (I believe) the reverse happening in Rugby League, with the amalgamation of teams, and waiting until the game can handle expansion. This has had a positive effect with more teams being competetive, and turning tipping into a real nightmare
I feel that Australian R/U made a mistake by including the Western Force, Hindsight is great I know, but I think it is going to take some time for Australian Rugby to get back to competetive levels that we have become a-custom to _________________ Mumblemumblemumble

I think for the short term, you are correct Rabbs, but where is thr Jnr development What happened to the 42 million that the Australian R?U got for hosting the World Cup a few years back Any sport that is struggling, should look at the cricket academy, or even the academy of sport, and use these models to create the next wave of Nick Farr Jones-es, Eales, Kearns and Papworths
Me thinks it will take some time before we can create some decent depth in the ARU. _________________ Mumblemumblemumble

They need forwards. They have produced none over the past 3 yrs that can truly compete with the All Blacks and Proteas.
What happened to all that $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ from the WC of 2003. Made over 40 million. Where has that all gone.
Plus we have Gregan, who should have given up at the end of 2003 and gone overseas or quit international football.
It says something that we have had the same halfback since 1994.

To true Charlie, Gregan served his purpose a while back, and as you said, if we had some depth, he would have been gooooone _________________ Mumblemumblemumble
