Premier League Tips- Saturday 17th March

Football ozmattuk writes "

It’s getting close to the end of the Premiership season, and for most of the season the eyes have been on champions Chelsea and leaders Man United. The Old Trafford outfit lead Chelsea by six points with nine games remaining, however with a far superior goal difference the lead is virtually seven points.

This Saturday sees a potential banana skin for Sir Alex as Man United take on Bolton at 12:45 GMT. The league leaders are without an out-an-out striker through injuries along with Henrik Larsson leaving and with no Paul Scholes who is suspended, this could be a game United could drop points in. But I guess any team with Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo in it, they’re bound to be a threat. Bolton are very physical and will be marking those two tightly and will be looking at bouncing back after two losses on the trot. They need to win to keep any hopes of Champions League football next season alive. Like I said this could be the game United drop points and I think a draw could be the outcome.

Chelsea v Sheffield United 3pm

Football can be unique in terms of one team can absolutely dominate the other and still lose. This won’t happen here. Chelsea will win by at least three goals. In fact 5-0 could be a good bet especially if Chelsea is boosted by Man United dropping points in the earlier kick off. Didier Drogba is one of the players of the season, look to him as a possible first goal scorer.

Tottenham v Watford 3pm

As said last week Tottenham are in great form and after another win in Europe I fancy Spurs to win this London derby. Dimitar Berbatov scored another two midweek along with the opener against Chelsea last weekend, however he could be rested for this one. But with Robbie Keane, Jermaine Defoe and Mido pulling the strings the home side will have too much strike-power. Watford somehow beat Plymouth in the cup last week despite being totally outplayed by a team in a lower division. They’ll huff and puff but White Hart Lane is not made out of straw or sticks. Tottenham 2-0.

Middlesbrough v Man City 3pm

Middlesbrough did well and were a little unfortunate not to beat Man United last week. Since the turn of the year Boro have only lost one game and will be full of confidence. They do sometimes struggle against the not so fancy teams especially after a positive performance against a heavyweight team. As predicted last week Man City were rubbish and were blasted by their fans. Stuart Pearce’s reign as manager could come to an end if they do not win as currently their season is in free fall. With their backs against the wall I’m going for a City 1-0 win and Stuart Pearce to be in charge for another week.

All the best with this weeks tips and if you have any good returns, I’ll be setting up a Swiss account if you’d like to make any donations."
