NEW LOOK AMNRL NATIONAL COMPETITION FOR TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Rugby League angpap writes "The AMNRL National Club Competition will feature a couple of exciting changes for the 2007 season with the National Championship Final X to be held in Jacksonville, at the University of North Florida on Saturday, September 1. With the AMNRL celebrating it's tenth year, the opportunity to host the Championship Final in Florida is a testament to how much has been achieved in the development of the sport of Rugby League in the USA from it's humble beginnings in 1998.

With Championship Final I being played at Deely Field in Sea Isle City, New Jersey between the Bulls and Fight it will be an interesting battle to see who will contest Championship Final X in the southeastern seaside city of Jacksonville. The 2007 competition will be contested by ten teams with the two conference format being altered to one total league format with great matchups throughout the season.

Reigning National Champions, the Connecticut Wildcats will be looking to repeat and will kickoff the 2007 as firm title favorites. With the changes at the Bulls it will be interesting to see whether they are able to extend their Championship presence to ten years running. The New York Knights and New Haven Warriors appear to have strong claims for the new season along with the Jacksonville Axemen after a fantastic debut year in 2006. The perennial playoff contenders, the Sharks will be desperate to get another crack at Championship glory whilst the DC Slayers will be looking to extend their playoff run beyond week one for the first time. The new look Fight could be an interesting challenge for all teams as they have improved depth and experience with the merger with the Mantarays. The young Northern Raiders and the debutant Fairfax Eagles will be looking to knock over some of the more established names in American Rugby League which should make for an exciting season to come."
