Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo Out for Month with Broken Pinkie

NFL Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will be out for at least four weeks after suffering a broken pinkie in his team’s overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Romo broke the finger on his throwing hand on the first play of the Cowboys opening overtime drive. While the injury won’t require surgery it will leave him out of action, opening the door for 40-year-old Brad Johnson who has started a game since 2006.

Romo was bruised up quite a bit on Sunday as he took three sacks, was knocked down 19 times and fumbled three times against the aggressive Cardinals defense.

The injury will snap Romo’s string of 30 straight starts he had since taking over for Drew Bledsoe in 2006.
