World Cup 2010 European Qualifier Group Three Results

The World Cup qualifying matches for Group Three on Saturday were a battle of the haves and the have-nots and the clear winners were the haves as Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia all secured victories, leaving the Czech Republic in serious trouble when it comes to reaching South Africa in 2010.

Poland was sitting atop the group heading into Saturday’s match against the Czech Republic and after their 2-1 victory they remain in the leader’s position. The Poles have yet to drop a match as they beat San Marino and drew with Slovenia in their other two matches.

Slovenia remained even with Poland in points as they dropped Northern Ireland 2-0 on Saturday and with their draw with Poland and their win over Slovakia they are looking solid for a chance to advance.

Slovakia kept their World Cup hopes alive with a 3-1 victory over San Marino on Saturday and now have six points after three matches. They have a victory over Northern Ireland to their credit as well as the loss to Poland.
