Ben Roethlisberger Throws 3 Touch Downs

NFL Ben Roethlisberger was 26/41 passing for 309 yards and three touchdowns, Mewelde Moore rushed for 99 yards and Hines Ward had 90 yards receiving and caught the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes left on the clock as the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1) beat the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-3) 26-21 on Sunday night.

It didn’t look good early for the Steelers as Roethlisberger tossed a first quarter interception that was returned 72-yards for a touchdown by Rashean Mathis but the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t buckle and led his team down the field on their next possession and tied the score with a one-yard toss to Heath Miller.

Jacksonville answered with an impressive drive of their own as David Garrard picked up a couple first downs on 3rd and long before Maurice Jones-Drew punched it in from a yard out and the Jaguars were back in front 14-7.

The Steelers defense dominated the second quarter, keeping Jacksonville of the board while the offense put 13 points up as Jeff Reed kicked a pair of field goals and Roethlisberger hit Nate Washington on a 48-yard touchdown pass to lead 20-14 at halftime.

Neither team could find the endzone in the third quarter but Garrard gave Jacksonville the lead early in the fourth with a 24-yard TD pass to Marcedes Lewis. After both teams punted the Steelers had one more chance as they started from their own 20-yard-line with 6:33 left on the clock. Roethlisberger moved the Steelers down the field with short passes while Moore did his part on the ground. With just under two minutes left Roethlisberger found Ward on an 8-yard pass in the corner of the endzone and the Steelers had their lead.

Jacksonville had 1:48 on the clock and two timeouts to work with but they couldn’t move the ball against the Steelers defense and Garrard eventually failed to convert a fourth down while still in Jaguars territory.
