World Cup 2010 European Qualifier: Group Four

Football The World Cup 2010 European Qualifying stages continue on October 11 with Group Four heading into their third match Germany is holding a narrow lead over Russia but the Russians have played just one match.

That could be settled when the two sides meet on Oct.11. After blasting Liechtenstein 6-0 Germany had a bit of a letdown against Finland, having to settle for a 3-3 draw. They’ll be hosting Russia who defeated Wales 2-1 in their only match thus far.

Wales is sitting in third right now having beaten Azerbaijan 2-1 in their opener before falling to Russia but they could improve their standing with a win over Liechtenstein who were embarrassed by Germany and then earned a draw with Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan will have to step it up if they want their first win as they travel to Finland who managed to earn a draw against Germany in their only match.
