Turnbull Stakes

Racing BETSTAR is in top gear for a massive weekend’s racing, the headline act being the Turnbull Stakes, which is bursting at the seams with Cups chances. With speed from Maldivian ($13.00), Zarita ($21.00) and Weekend Hussler ($1.75), this will be a truly run Turnbull Stakes.

With a likely early charge for the front, Froggy Newitt will be smoking his pipe on Pompeii Ruler ($7.50) – who should get the perfect trail from barrier two. This is his fourth start back from a long spell and his fitness should be peak. For these reasons he’ll get the BETSTAR nod at the value over Weekend Hussler. Also expect Littorio ($10.00) to be supported, dropping to 53kg after racing so well at WFA. Littorio suits the 2000m at Flemington and we can see him running home very well at the business end of the race. The blinkers have been added to this gelding for the first time this Saturday too, which should sharpen him up enough to be more competitive.



All eyes on Randwick for Super Saturday, Group 1 feature races include the Epsom, Metropolitan and Flight Stakes. Up and coming Theseo will be looking to add a Group 1 to his CV and is value at $11.00 but drawing barrier eighteen will be a setback. Whilst Judged ($9.00) has drawn fourteen, she will get back to near last and with Bossy on board, she will be steaming home. The Anthony *****mings trained Raheeb has been progressing well through the grades and is perfectly drawn for this race; currently retains favouritism at $3.80 and will be hard to beat.
