HUSSLER HEADS STAR STUDDED TURNBULL LINE-UP

Racing Australia’s Champion racehorse Weekend Hussler heads a star-studded line-up for the Group 1 $502,000 Patinack Turnbull Stakes to be run at Flemington on Saturday.

Fast becoming one of the most popular horses to race in Australia, the “Hussler” as racegoers have come to know him, will be attempting to win his 13th race from sixteen starts and his 8th at Group 1 level as he continues on an ambitious campaign which is scheduled to conclude with a run in the $5.65 million Emirates Melbourne Cup on November 4.

Twenty-four horses have been nominated for the Patinack Turnbull Stakes including last year’s Emirates Melbourne Cup winner Efficient, last year’s Caulfield Cup winner Master O’Reilly and a host of other key spring contenders including Pompeii Ruler, Tuesday Joy, Zarita, Maldivian and Littorio.

Saturday’s ten-race program at Flemington is expected to attract a crowd in excess of 25,000 Applications for Media Accreditation for the 2008 Melbourne Cup Carnival close at 5pm on Friday, October 3.
