BETSTAR LAYS RAHEEB TO LOSE $1 MILLION IN COX PLATE

Racing BETSTAR today laid a bet to lose $1 million on Raheeb in the Cox Plate after one daring punter sensationally backed him at $41.00.

Formally trained by Tim Martin and now in his 1st preparation with Anthony Cu mmings, the lightly raced Raheeb had an impressive last start win in the Cameron Handicap at Newcastle beating a class field by over 3 lengths.

"It is good to see that he is finally putting it altogether and consequently punters will want to get on early" said BETSTARS Racing Manager Michael Horne.

Raheeb is currently a $4.00 favourite for the Epsom Handicap on 4th October; if he can win we will see him firm even more for the Cox Plate, added Horne. Currently BETSTAR have him at $26.00 to win the Cox Plate.

In other betting News, BETSTAR has also taken $30,000 Each Way on Romneya in the Thousand Guineas at $4.60. This exciting 3 year old filly, who is bred in the purple being by Red Ransom out of super racemare Mannington, had a very unlucky last start in the Tranquil Stakes, being beaten by Ortensia. Prior to this she ran second to Lord Tavistock at Flemington who is near the top of betting in the Caulfield Guineas.

Romneya's breeding value will skyrocket if she can win the Group 1 Thousand Guineas - and in turn looks to be a valuable investment to trainer Lee Freedman and her Darley owners. Currently she is second in the market at $4.00 while Samantha Miss retains favouritism at $3.20 in the Thousand Guineas.
