Ablett voted MVP

AFL AFL players have voted Geelong's Gary Ablett the game's most valuable player for the second straight year.

Ablett received almost 1,100 votes from his peers and is just the fourth player to secure two Leigh Matthews Trophies.

Hawthorn's Lance Franklin finished second in the AFL Players Association poll, but was 370 votes behind Ablett.

Fremantle's Rhys Palmer was named the best first year player.
