Brett Favre Tosses Two TDs in Jets Debut

Brett Favre threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns, Thomas Jones rushed for 101 yards and a TD and Darrelle Revis intercepted a Chad Pennington pass in the endzone in the closing seconds as the New York Jets beat the Miami Dolphins 20-14 on Sunday.

Favre didn’t waste much time getting the Jets on the board as he hit Jerricho Cotchery on a 56-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter but the Dolphins answered in the second quarter as Pennington hit Anthony Fassano on a 5-yard score to tie the game.		New York Jets


With Mike Nugent suffering a thigh bruise earlier in the game the Jets were forced to attempt a fourth and 13 on the Dolphins 22-yard line. That didn’t seem to bother Favre as he avoided a tackle and threw the ball into the endzone where Chansi Stuckey came down with the TD.

Jones pushed the lead to 20-7 in the third quarter on a 6-yard run but the Dolphins scored with just under four minutes left in the fourth to cut their deficit to 20-14 and then had a chance to win the game late but Pennington’s final pass was intercepted by Revis and the Jets earned the road win.
