Federer into the Final

Tennis Roger Federer used punishing serves and took advantage of numerous unforced errors to blast past Novak Djokovic in four sets 6-3, 5-7, 7-5, 6-2 on Saturday to advance to the final at the 2008 U.S. Open.

Federer pounded out 20 aces in the match and had just one double-fault and committed just 28 unforced errors compared to 47 unforced errors committed by Djokovic. Federer also managed to take advantage of the 12 break point opportunities he had, converting on five while Djokovic had just 2 of 4 break point opportunities.

Federer is seeking his first Grand Slam victory of 2008 after falling in the finals of the French Open and Wimbledon. The 27-year-old has won at least one Grand Slam singles title since 2003, totaling 12 career wins including four at the U.S. Open.
