Elena Dementieva Pushes Through to Fourth Round

Tennis Elena Dementieva continued her push for her first Grand Slam title on Friday after beating Anne Keothavong in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 at the 2008 U.S. Open.

Dementieva, ranked #5 in the tournament, used an effective first serve to control the match as she landed 73 percent, winning on 63 percent of those serves. Keothavong committed 38 unforced errors in the match.

Dementieva has twice reached a finals at a Grand Slam event, the French Open and the U.S. Open, both in 2004.
