Jelena Jankovic Hangs on to Beat Jie Zheng to Reach Fourth Round

Tennis Jelena Jankovic had a fight on her hands in the third round of the 2008 U.S. Open but the #2 managed to hang on and beat Jie Zheng in two sets,  7-5, 7-5 on Friday to advance to the fourth round.

Jankovic struggled with her serve throughout the match, landing just 53 percent of her first serves while committing eight double faults butshe was able to take advantage of Jie’s 41 unforced errors to avoid the upset.

As bad as Janovic was on her own serve she proved tough when on break point opportunities, taking Jie’s serve on eight of twelve opportunities.
