United States Women’s Basketball Team Pounds Australia for Gold

Talkin Sport The United States women’s basketball team cruised to another gold medal, pounding Australia 92-65 on Saturday at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

After building a 22-15 advantage after the first quarter the American women put the game away in the second quarter and carried a 17-point advantage into the break. The U.S. did the majority of their damage in the paint, outscoring Australia 42-20 down low.

Kara Lawson led the U.S. squad with 15 points while Lisa Leslie added 14 points and 7 rebounds and Candace Parker finished with 14 points and 4 rebounds.
