ARROWFIELD STARS DELIVER IN ANZ CLASSIFICATIONS

Redoute's Choice Arrowfield stallions, Redoute’s Choice, Hussonet and Flying Spur featured prominently in the recently released 2007-8 ANZ Classifications.

Weekend Hussler (by Hussonet) based on his six Group 1 wins including victories in the Newmarket Handicap and the George Ryder Stakes, was the highest rating 3YO in the listings at 122, well ahead of his closest rival, Light Fantastic (at 115). Hussonet’s juvenile son Reaan, owned by Shadwell Stud, was rated the third best 2YO of the season.

Samantha Miss (by Redoute’s Choice) was the leading 2YO filly ahead of the brilliant Amelia’s Dream (also by Redoute’s Choice) in second place. Redoute’s Choice Champion mare, Miss Finland, was rated the leading mare at a mile in the Classifications, based on her emphatic victory in the G2 Memsie Stakes and she shared that title with Divine Madonna, both rated at 115. Flying Spur produced this year’s equal leading 3YO sprinting filly in Forensics (at 107) while she was also the highest rated 3YO filly at a mile (at 111). Dealer Principal and Kingda Ka, second and third respectively in the intermediate division (1900-2100m) of the Classifications, made their contribution to Flying Spur’s excellent season.

This follows on from Arrowfield’s stallions’ success in previous seasons when Redoute’s Choice sired the Champion 2YO fillies of 2004-5 (Fashions Afield) and 2005-6 (Miss Finland), Champion 2YO colt of 2004-5 (Stratum), Flying Spur sired the Champion 2YO filly of 2006-7 (Forensics) and Danzero the Champion 2YO of 2003-4 (Dance Hero).
