He Kexin Wins Gold Medal Over Nastia Liukin in Uneven Bars

China's He Kexin won the gold medal in the uneven bars in women's gymnastics on Monday in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

He won the tiebreaker from Nastia Luikin (U.S.), who won the individual all-around final gold medal last week. Both He and Luikin scored a 16.725, but He received the gold because her execution scores were closer to a perfect 10 than Liukin's. Luikin has now won four overal medals, two of which are silver.

Monday's bronze went to China's Yang Yilin, her third medal, including bronze in the all-around. U.S. women have won six medals in gymnastics, while China's women have five, including team gold.

In men's gymnastics, Chen Yibing of China won the gold medal in the men's rings event with a 16.600 score, followed by fellow Chinese teammate Wei Yang (16.435). Oleksandr Vorobiov of Ukraine won the bronze (16.325).

Leszek Blanik of Poland won the gold medal in the men's pole vault, followed by France's Thomas Bouhail. Both Blanik and Bouhail scored a 16.537, but Blanik won the medal. Anton Golotsutskov of Russia placed third and received a bronze.

China Takes Gold and Silver in Men�s Rings

China has had an epic run through the 2008 Beijing Olympics and that run continued on Monday as Chen Yibing captured gold in the men�s rings in gymnastics, adding to the gold he earned as part of China�s team gold won last week.

Chen scored an impressive 16.600 on the apparatus to secure the top score while his teammate Wei Yang nabbed the silver medal after scoring a 16.425 on the rings.

Ukraine�s Oleksandr Vorobiov claimed the bronze medal with a score of 16.325.

Leszek Blanik Wins Gold in Men�s Vault after Tie-Breaker Favors Pole

Leszek Blanik claimed the gold medal in men�s vault in gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympics on Monday after the sport�s tie-breaker system favored the Pole.

Blanik�s 16.537 was duplicated by France�s Thomas Bouhail and both athletes shared the same difficulty in their vault leaving the gold medal in question but according to the tie-breaker standards in gymnastics Blanik took te top spot having earned the highest individual score from a judge.

Bouhail had to settle for silver while Russia�s Anton Golotsutskov scored a 16.475 for the bronze.
