RUGBY LEAGUE IN AMERICA GOES TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Rugby League angpap writes "American National Rugby League President David Niu has joined Quakermedia (www.quakermedia.com) to partner with Pat Croce and Tim Chambers to develop television content/distribution and grow the sport of Rugby League in America.

The combination of Rugby League expertise, film and television experience, sports business knowledge and entrepreneurial skill present an exciting opportunity for the development of Rugby League at all levels in America from youth programs to international competition.

Currently Quakermedia is developing Rugby League content for television that will include a weekly highlights show featuring the National Rugby League (NRL) and Super League Europe (SLE), the elite professional level Rugby League competitions in Australia, New Zealand, England and France. Not only will the program feature the best of world Rugby League but it will also present game rules, and local AMNRL news and information.

With the growing interest in the sport of Rugby League developing nationally, a made for television series is being developed in association with MY Entertainment (Producers of Pros v Joes on SPIKE TV Network) to focus on the 2007 AMNRL National Club Competition and the USA Tomahawks National Team in it’s quest to qualify for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup in Australia 2008. The series will feature the daily struggle to develop a new sport in a huge sporting market, the ongoing battles of athletes with full time jobs trying to earn selection to the national team and ultimately qualify for the World Cup against other nations comprised of full time professional players.

Through Quakermedia and the team of Pat Croce, Tim Chambers and David Niu, Rugby League will have a tremendous opportunity to be presented on a diverse media platform never before undertaken in North America.
