| Australia v New Zealand |
| |
| Australia aim to extend Robbie Deans' unbeaten start as coach with victory over his native New Zealand in Saturday's Tri-Nations clash in Sydney.
The Wallabies are without captain Stirling Mortlock and give a full debut to rugby league convert Ryan Cross.
The All Blacks, stung by a first home defeat in five years against South Africa last time out, have won six of the last seven Tests against Australia.

| Hanover Sevens |
| |
The European men's qualifying final for next year's Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai takes place in Hannover, Germany this weekend with interest in the event outstripping all expectations.
The event organisers have been forced to open the top tier of the AWD-Arena after pre-selling over 35,000 tickets for the event on 12-13 July, mostly to fans within Germany.
Top seeds Portugal are favourites along with Wales, although they face stiff opposition from Ireland, Spain, Russia, Italy, Ukraine, the hosts Germany, Romania, Poland, Belgium and Georgia.
