Rafael Nadal Meets Rainer Schuettler for Trip to Finals

Rafael Nadal is one step closer to his third straight trip to the Wimbledon finals while Rainer Schuettler is looking to reach his first Grand Slam singles final appearance since 2003. Nadal and Schuettler will each get their chance when they meet at Centre Court following the end of the Roger Federer v. Marat Safin match scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
Nadal has advanced to the last two Wimbledon finals but has yet to get over the hump, falling to Roger Federer on both occasions. He does have four career Grand Slam singles titles, all four coming from the French Open.
Schuettler will have his work cut out for him after surviving a 5-plus hour match against Arnaud Clement that covered two days to advance to the semifinals. Schuettler hasn’t reached this far in a Grand Slam singles event since he made it to the finals of the Australian Open in 2003. He lost to Andre Agassi that year.
The matchup between Nadal and Schuettler will take place after the Federer v Safin match.
