Rainer Schuettler became the final piece in the Wimbledon men’s singles semifinals puzzle after beating Arnaud Clement in a marathon match that took two days to complete due to several rain delays. After more than five hours of actual tennis Schuettler came out on top 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 6-7 (7-9), 8-6 and will now face Rafael Nadal in the semis.
Schuettler totaled 202 serves in the match and managed to sneak past 13 aces. He also overcame 57 unforced errors in the match by breaking Clement’s serve eight times.
The 32-year-old Schuettler has never won a Grand Slam singles title but reached the finals of the Australian Open in 2003 when he lost to Andre Agassi.
