Venus Williams Marches on, Beats Elena Dementieva for Birth in Finals

Venus Williams proved once again that there was no woman more dominant on the grass surface than her after disposing of Elena Dementieva 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) on Thursday to advance to the Wimbledon finals where she will meet the winner of the Serena Williams v. Jie Zheng match.
Williams hammered out four aces in the match and captured key break points when needed to knock off the Russian. Both women appeared to have strong service games but while Williams broke Dementieva four times the American had her serve broken just once.
Williams has collected six Grand Slam singles titles over her career and has won four titles at Wimbledon, including last year. She has reached the finals at Wimbledon on two other occasions but lost to hersister Serena Williams both times.
