Rafael Nadal took another step towards reaching his third straight Wimbledon finals after the Spaniard handled Andy Murray in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 on Wednesday to advance to the semifinals at the All England Club.
Nadal once again played nearly flawless tennis, relying on efficient play to get past the crowd favorite. Nadal committed just 8 unforced errors and didn’t allow Murray a single break point opportunity. Murray struggled with consistency as he committed 20 unforced errors.
Nadal has four Grand Slam singles titles to his credit, all four coming at the French Open. He has reached the Wimbledon finals the past two years only to fall to Roger Federer on each occasion.
